Outdoor Lighting
At MoonCast we understand the value in making your outdoor space enjoyable and usable day or night. Whether it be residential or commercial, MoonCast surveys, designs, installs and maintains your entire landscape lighting system, providing an end to end lighting solution. We choose the ideal fixtures and power system to match your wants and needs, nothing more and nothing less.
Security. Safety. Ambience.
Our goal is to extend both the amount of time and joy our clients get out of their property. While not all landscape lighting is the same, we try to answer the three main purposes of lighting with every install: Security, Safety and Ambiance.
Security lights are common everywhere you go, the simple truth is that a lit house is less of a target for any danger. While MoonCast doesn’t install security systems, we believe that by providing a full lighting system our clients aren’t kept in the dark and feel more secure at home. Safety is achieved by illuminating walkways, steps, and any other hazardous areas when left in the dark. Ambiance is created by lighting at different depths of a property, giving a layered and extended feel to the property. Landscape lighting provides not only purpose but a unique beauty to every home.

FAQs
Does Landscape Lighting Add Value?
Certainly! Low-voltage outdoor lighting adds value to a home by improving curb appeal, enhancing safety, and highlighting landscaping or architectural features. Well-designed lighting makes a home look more attractive at night, which can positively influence potential buyers. It also boosts security by illuminating dark areas around the property, making it a practical upgrade as well as an aesthetic one!
How Does Low-voltage Lighting Work?
Low-voltage outdoor lighting works by using a transformer (mounted in close vicinity to an outdoor-rated 120-volt outlet) to reduce the standard household voltage (usually 120 volts in the U.S.) down to a much safer 12-15 volts. This system is widely used in landscape lighting because it's safer, energy-efficient, easier to install, and often more flexible in design. Once we lay out the fixtures and wire, we trench a minimum of 6 inches into the ground to hide the wire and make our connections. This wire is not high voltage and will not harm anyone in case of a wire cut.
Solar Lighting is so Much Cheaper; Why Not do That?
Solar lighting is limited by its reliance on sunlight, which can lead to dim or unreliable performance in shaded areas or during cloudy weather. It typically provides less brightness than wired systems and may not be suitable for areas needing strong, consistent lighting (we believe most homes deserve consistency)! Additionally, battery degradation and lower-quality construction in cheaper models can result in frequent maintenance and shorter lifespans not to mention poor aesthetics.
How Much Does Lighting Cost?
That depends on what you’re trying to get out of your lighting system. If all you need are some lights to guide you to your car every morning and light your heavy traffic patterns, it can be as simple as a couple of thousand dollars. If you would like a grand entrance, highlighted architectural features, and color-changing lamps for seasonal events, systems can be upwards of $30,000. Our goal is to help tailor a lighting system to your space, needs, and budget.
What is MoonCast’s Typical Process?
First things first, we ideally have clients fill out our brief questionnaire. Once that is complete, the MoonCast team reviews client feedback and establishes either a virtual or in-person meeting to assess the property in greater detail. The MoonCast team will then develop a conceptual design that reflects lighting and/or audio needs. Next, after creating a rough plan, we like to meet with the client to discuss in further detail what we can offer them and what the timeline/cost will look like. Once the design has been approved and signed, we order materials and are usually in and out of the property within 2-5 business days!
Why to Choose Us?
At MoonCast, we specialize in a custom and experienced installation. That means from the beginning of our meeting, we are tailoring your system to YOU, whether that be regarding specialty lights for your property, or specialty audio for your home’s needs. We only work with lighting and audio, meaning we are experts at what we do, while other landscapers are too busy to fix your system, we can be there within a day’s notice. We have a close relationship with dealers and suppliers, making our warranty honest and timely. We work hard to offer an accurate and reasonable price for what the client will be adding to their home.
